If you already have a website with another provider, we move it to your hosting for you: free of charge, within 5 days. The website stays online at your current provider the whole time.
Request the migration
- Buy a hosting plan for the website's domain (see Buy hosting).
- In your account open Hosting → website name → Migration and click Request the migration.
- Fill in the form:
- Current website address and Current provider;
- Access to the current provider: the provider's control panel (cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin…: address, username and password) or FTP and database (FTP server, username, password and, if the website uses one, the database details);
- whether the website is built with WordPress;
- any notes (folders to leave out, parts of the website not to touch).
- Click Request the migration: you get a confirmation email with the date by which it will be completed.
The tab shows the status: Received, In progress, Completed. Until it has started you can cancel it from the ⋮ menu.
Passwords stay encrypted, only our technicians can see them and we delete them when the migration is finished. Afterwards, change them at your old provider.
When the migration is complete
You get an email. Then:
- Check the website: the files are in the www folder (see FTP) and the database in the Databases tab.
- Point the domain to us: if the domain is already with us, just use our nameservers (see Nameservers); if it is still with the old provider, transfer it or change the DNS records there.
- Once the website answers from us, you can cancel the old hosting.
Mailboxes
The website migration does not include mailboxes: to move them, ask from the Email page.
How many migrations
One free migration per hosting website. If you cancel a request, you can make a new one.
