You can choose your website's PHP version and some main settings. In the dashboard: Hosting → website name → PHP.
PHP version
From the PHP version menu choose among the versions available on the server (8 and later).
Before changing version check that your website supports it: themes, plugins and code written for old versions may stop working. If that happens, switch back to the previous version.
The settings
| Setting | Values | What it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Memory limit | 128M – 1024M | memory each request can use; raise it if the website reports "memory exhausted" |
| Maximum upload file size | 16M – 512M | the largest file that can be uploaded through the website (e.g. images, themes) |
| Maximum POST data size | 16M – 512M | everything a form can send at once; keep it at least equal to the previous one |
| Maximum execution time | 30 – 300 s | how long a request can run before it is stopped |
Save
Click Save: Change in progress appears and the website restarts, usually in under two minutes. While it restarts no other changes can be made to the website: if you try you read "Another change is already in progress on the site".
