Transfer a domain to us

You can move a domain registered with another provider to SiteLyra. The domain stays online during the transfer.

Before you start

With your current provider:

1. Remove the transfer lock (often called "lock" or "theft protection").
2. Ask for the transfer code (AuthInfo or auth code): the provider is required to give it to you.
3. Make sure you can read the registrant's email: for many extensions a confirmation request is sent there.

Start the transfer

1. Open the Transfer page, enter one or more domains (one per line) and click Check: you see which ones can be transferred and the price.
2. Click Transfer on the domains you want to move: they go to the cart.
3. In the cart enter each domain's Transfer code (AuthInfo) and click Save code.
4. Click Proceed to order, choose registrant and nameservers, pay and confirm.

After the order

In the dashboard the domain appears under Domains as Transfer in progress. The transfer usually takes 1 to 5 days, depending on the extension and on how quickly it is confirmed. When it is complete the status becomes Active.

A transfer usually adds one year to the domain's expiry.

If it doesn't start

• Wrong or expired code: ask your current provider for a new one.
• Domain still locked: remove the lock with your current provider.
• Recently registered or transferred domain: many registries do not allow a transfer in the first 60 days.
