Glue records

Glue records are needed if you want nameservers named after your own domain, for example ns1.yourdomain.com: they tell the registry the IP address of those nameservers. If you use SiteLyra's nameservers you don't need them.

Create a glue record

  1. In the dashboard open Glue records and click New glue.
  2. Domain: the domain the nameserver belongs to.
  3. Name: the part before the domain (e.g. ns1).
  4. The server's IPv4 address and, if any, IPv6 address: they must be public addresses.
  5. Click Create glue.

Then add the nameserver to a nameserver group and assign the group to your domains.

Edit or delete

From a glue record's ⋮ menu: Edit to change the IP addresses (the name can't change: for a different name delete it and create it again), Delete to remove it. Before deleting it, change the nameservers of the domains that use it.
