You can let other people work on your account, for example a colleague or your web agency: each one signs in with their own email and password and has a role that decides what they can do. You remain the owner: domains, websites, orders and invoices stay yours.
Invite a user
- In the left menu open Users and click + Invite a user.
- Enter the person's email and choose the role.
- Click Invite a user: they receive an email with the link to accept, valid for 7 days.
The person signs in, or creates an account, with the same email as the invitation and clicks Accept the invitation.
Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything. It is whoever created the account |
| Administrator | Everything the owner does: purchases, renewals, billing, credit and users (but cannot change or remove other administrators) |
| Technician | Manages domains, DNS, hosting and email, including passwords. Does not buy, renew or see billing |
| Read-only | Sees everything but changes nothing and does not see passwords |
Only some domains
For a technician or a read-only user you can tick the domains to limit them to, in the invitation or with Change role. They only see those domains, their email and the websites that use them; they don't see contacts, nameservers, glue records, orders and billing. If you tick nothing they see all domains, including the ones you buy later.
Work on someone else's account
If someone invited you, the account menu at the top right shows Accounts: choose My account or …'s account. While you work on someone else's account a bar at the top reminds you, with Back to your account and Leave the account.
Change role or remove a user
In Users, from the ⋮ menu of the row: Change role, Remove access or, for an invitation not yet accepted, Cancel invitation. Access ends immediately.
Expiry notices, automatic renewals and invoices always go to the owner.
