This guide explains how to create a new mailbox on your domain. Email must be active on the domain: see Activate email.
Open the creation window
- In the dashboard open Domains and click Manage next to the domain.
- Open the Email tab: the Mailboxes list opens.
- Click New mailbox.
Fill in the fields
Address
Type the part before the @: the domain is already set. For example, typing info gives you info@yourdomain.com.
You can use lowercase letters, digits, dot (.), hyphen (-) and underscore (_). The address must start and end with a letter or digit and cannot contain two dots in a row.
Display name
Optional: the name of the person or department the mailbox belongs to (e.g. Orders office). It helps you recognise it in the list.
Space (MB)
The mailbox's space, from 100 MB to 100 GB (suggested: 1024 MB, i.e. 1 GB). The total space of all mailboxes cannot exceed your pack: the summary at the top of the tab shows how much you have already assigned.
Password
At least 10 characters, with letters and digits. You can have a secure one generated with the button next to the field.
Save the password somewhere safe right away: you will need it to sign in to webmail and to set up computers and phones.
Create the mailbox
Click Create mailbox. The mailbox appears in the list straight away and is already active: you can use it in webmail and set it up in mail apps.
If an error appears, check:
- the address: only the allowed characters, and it must not already exist as a mailbox or a forward;
- the password: at least 10 characters, with letters and digits;
- the space: between 100 MB and 100 GB, and within what is left in your pack;
- the number of mailboxes: if you have reached your pack's maximum, add one from the Service tab.
After creation
For each mailbox the list shows the space used, the last sign-in and the status. To change password, space or access see Manage mailboxes. To set up the mailbox on computers and phones see Set up a mail app.
